Culturally Responsive, Recovery-Oriented Care

Rahma Recovery Center provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed peer support, recovery coaching, family intervention, recovery housing, and community-based recovery services that empower individuals to pursue lasting recovery while honoring their identity and dignity.

02 Our Vision

A Recovery Ecosystem Built on Belonging

We envision communities where culturally responsive recovery support is accessible, trusted, and deeply connected to the people it serves — where every person seeking recovery has access to dignity, belonging, opportunity, and a supportive community in which to heal and thrive.

A Community Where Recovery Belongs

South King County Recovery Café

Recovery does not happen only in treatment centers, counseling offices, or recovery residences. Much of recovery happens afterward — in ordinary life. Over coffee. Around a table. During difficult conversations. Through friendships, accountability, service, and having somewhere to belong.

Led by Rahma Recovery Center in partnership with Living Well Kent Collaborative, the Café is being developed to serve communities across South King County.

There is a place for you here.

Our Story

Built From Lived Experience. Driven By Purpose.

Rahma Recovery Center was not created from a theory about what people struggling with addiction need — it grew from lived experience. Our founder, Hussein Ugas, experienced firsthand the realities of addiction, mental-health struggles, justice-system involvement, rebuilding, and long-term recovery.

Those experiences revealed both the power of recovery and the gaps that remain for people whose culture, faith, family, or lived experience may not be understood within traditional systems. Rahma Recovery Center was created to help bridge those gaps.

  • Culturally responsive support that honors faith, identity, and family
  • Peer-led support from staff who understand recovery firsthand
  • Family and community support, not just individual treatment
"

Recovery is not theoretical — it is lived one day at a time. That's the foundation our team is built on.

Faith & Recovery

Faith-Informed. Open to Everyone.

Rahma Recovery Center was founded from Muslim and East African lived experience, and faith remains part of how we understand healing. We don't hide that — culture and faith can be strengths in recovery, not barriers to receiving care.

Rahma Recovery Center welcomes individuals seeking recovery support regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or background.
